A missed flight
leads to parking innovation
Founded in 1999 by Chul Jin “C. J.” Yoo, a former Hyundai CEO, who saw the need for a better way to operate busy parking garages after missing a flight at O’Hare International Airport because he was searching for a parking space in what turned out to be a full parking garage. Later, he read in a Chicago newspaper that 400 people a day missed flights at O’hare for the same reason. Upon retiring from Hyundai he chiefly recruited some recently retired Hyundai senior engineers and set to work and TIS was born.
